Team members will land in Nairobi Kenya.  After a rest day, team members will be taken by truck on a day-long journey to the village of Oyugis in Western Kenya. 

The team will be involved in holding daily Medical Clinics as well as health-promotional educational efforts in the community of Oyugis.

 

After approximately 9 days of clinics, team members will be transported to the Masai Mara reserve for a relaxing Jungle Safari.  the trip will end with a day of shopping in Nairobi before returning home.

 

  • Amount of in-country travel:  Moderate: there will be several days of heavy ground travel via trucks to travel from Nairobi to Oyugis; from Oyugis to Masai Mara and from Masai Mara back to Nairobi.
  • Sleeping Arrangements:  Team members will sleep in a simple hotel with beds and bathroom facilities.
  • Running Water/Electricity:  Running water and electricity is avaiolable at the hotel, but will not be available at the clinic sites.
  • Physical Requirements:  Team members will be asked to hike several miles each day to and from the clinic along rough terrain.  Team members may be asked to assist lifting heavy luggage.
