The team will arrive at Roberts International Airport, Monrovia, LIberia then be transported by bus to the Liberia Government Hospital (LGH) in Tubmanburg, Bomi County.  The team will use the housing and kitchen facilities at the LGH as a homebase.

From the LGH Facility the team will branch out to provide medical/education services to rural and remote villages in the Bomi County region of Liberia.

Team members will provide health education training to Medical Providers, Community Members and School Children.

In addition the team will provide a one day educational seminar for the staff at the LHG as well as an additional day of seminar for Rural medical providers.

SIGHT SEEING OPPORTUNITY:

Team members will spend a day relaxing at Blue Lake during their day of rest at the midpoint of the trip. 

There will be a farewell dinner held at a beautiful Monrovia Beachfront Restaraunt where team members will have the opportunity to enjoy an amazing Liberian Sunset over the Eastern Atlantic Ocean.

  • Amount of in-country travel: Moderate -including a trip from the airport to the Liberian Government Hospital in Tubmanburg (approximately a 4 hour drive) and daily trips by bus up to two hours each direction to remote clinic sites then return to the LGH housing facility each evening.
  • Sleeping arrangements: Team members will stay at the LGH housing facilities with Matresses to sleep on and fans for cooling as long as the generator is running.
  • Running water/electricity: Water is available at outside water spickets and will need to be hand carried into the housing units for showers and to flush toilets (Solar Shower bags are a must for this trip). Electricity is available from a hospital generator and is out at times.  Most clinic sites will not have running water or electricity.
  • Physical requirements: Team members will be exposed to heat and high humidity during the day and it is recommended that you are in moderate to good physical condition.
  • Meals:  Meals will be provide by locals.  Breakfast and Dinner will be held at the LGH.  Lunches will be sack lunches.

**Price includes airfare from major US cities(Excluding Alaska & Hawaii) to Liberia (**Airfare price subject to an increase in the event that airlines implement an additional fuel surcharge above and beyond the rate established as of June 1, 2011), ground transportation in LIberia, food and lodging in Liberia, all taxes as well as visa and government fees and a team t-shirt. The price does not include immunizations, airline luggage fees, and costs incurred outside of Liberia.
