The team will arrive at the Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport, then transfer to a local airline for a flight on to Tuguegarao, Province of Cagayan. (Team Luggage will be hauled via truck from Manila to Ilagan and arrive the morning after the team arrives)  From Tuguegarao the team will be transported via ground transport on to Ilagan, Isabella Province. (About a one hour drive).

The team will be staying at the Residence grounds of the Mayor of Ilagan in Bungalow style huts.  There will be a common shower and bath facility available.  There will be electricity avaibable at both the clinic site as well as the housing location.  (possible interruptions of service). The traditional style meals will be prepared by local cooks for the team.

Clinics will be held at a hospital on the perimeter of Ilagan and team members will be working side by side with local medical providers.  The team will also provide an educational seminar at the hospital site for hospital staff.

Sight Seeing Opportunity:

At the mid-point of the trip the team will have two days of rest as they travel to Pagudpud Beach for sight seeing, Rest & Relaxation on the beautiful white sandy beaches.  MORE INFO

After the Beach excursion and a traditional Dinner the team will return to Ilagan and complete their final three clinics.

 

 
  • Amount of in-country travel: Minimal -including a trip from the airport to the Compound (approximately one hour drive) and daily trips of less than twenty minutes from the compound to the clinic site.
  • Sleeping arrangements: Team members will stay in bungalows sleeping on cots at the Mayor's personal residence compound.
  • Running water/electricity: Running water and electricity is available at the compound with a common shower house. Water and Electricity will be available at the clinic as well.
  • Physical requirements: Team members may be exposed to heat and high humidity during the day.
